I started managing an Internet Shop last April and it’s just today that I got to experience operating the shop during the regular school days. The first day of school especially here in Biñan (Near University of Perpetual Help) boosted my confidence that I made the right choice of location when I was still searching for an Internet Shop Location. As early as 9:00AM while we are still cleaning the shop students are coming in and filling up the workstations. We cannot even accommodate everyone. Not even rental rates matters. I hope today’s episode will become a routine every day because I would love to call this Internet cafe a business not just a playground.

Last Monday the Refrigarator for the Internet Cafe was delivered. This is my attempt to be different from the other nearby Internet cafes and at the same time making easier for customers incase they need to have a break from their internet activities. The shop is selling different C2 flavors and other chichirias. So far its selling nicely and at this time my wife is buying more supplies.

I was very busy attending to some operation matters to Mobilehive Internet Cafe for the past days. Actually, I was looking for someone who can assist me and who will be willing to man the shop from 5:00pm – 12:00 midnight. Last Saturday I interviewed a 21 year old guy. My first impression was nice though he has zero knowledge on computer and internet. I decided to hire and train him. Since Saturday he is helping me already and at the same time I’m introducing him to the world of Information Technology. The challenge would be I should be able to make him confident in assisting me here at the Mobilehive Cafe. I also found out he can draw so I would be introducing him to photoshop later.

I have questions that I’m not sure of the answers. Is Ink refill business illegal? Does this business accepted by Printer and Copier companies like Hewlett Packard, Epson, Canon, etc without any case pending on our local court? I did ask because of curiosity and at the same time I’m going to try refill solution for the first time for my HP LaserJet printer that I’m using here at the Mobilehive Internet Café.

I did canvass the cost of the original toner. It cost more than P3, 400 while the not so so genuine toner cost P1, 900. The refill is only 1,100 on the Mall and on other refill stations. I heard if you go to underground market it will only cost you like P500 or even lower. Ink powder for toner cost only like P280. Imagine if you know how to do the refill? This is what I want to learn. I’m still exploring.
